General Terms and Conditions of the children's language school Merry-go-round

1 Scope of application
1.1 These general terms and conditions apply to contracts between the Children’s language school Merry-go-round and parents who have registered their children for courses (from 2 years of age).

2 courses
2.1. The courses will take place at the following address: Delta Area, Langendorfstrasse 2, 4513 Langendorf, Building 101, 1st floor
2.2. The children can be brought / picked up a maximum of 15 minutes before and after the start or end of the playgroup.
2.3. No courses take place during the official school holidays of the city of Solothurn.
2.4. During the holidays, we recommend that you visit the children’s language camp offered and run by us. More detailed information can be found on the website: https://www.kindersprachcamps.ch
2.5. Visits from parents are always welcome.
2.6. Missed lessons are not refundable.
If the child falls ill, compensation is possible in the form of a visit to the parallel play group (if it exists) by arrangement with the carer.
2.7. The timetable for the coming school year is drawn up in June of the current year, taking into account the wishes of the parents and the College.

3 course sizes
3.1. The courses take place with a minimum number of four children from kindergarten groups (Preschool, A1, etc.) and five children in the playgroup.
3.2. If this minimum number is not reached in a game or language group, an increase in course costs may occur.

4 Safety, accident and liability insurance
4.1. Accident, liability and health insurance for children is the responsibility of the parents. The association assumes no liability for accidents.
4.2. Children with fever or contagious diseases are not allowed to visit the play group again until they have fully recovered.
4.3. Children may only be picked up by their parents, unless they have explicitly given other instructions.

5 Costs
5.1. The costs for the different courses can be seen under the following link: Course costs
5.2. An additional CHF 50 per year is charged for course material.
5.3. Siblings receive a 30% discount
5.4. Modality of the course costs: 1st period = August to February, 2nd period = February to July
5.5. At the beginning of the semester, an invoice based on the number of lessons held will be issued and must be paid within 20 days.
5.6. If the invoice is not paid on time, a reminder fee of CHF 20.00 will be charged.
5.7. If the invoice is still not paid after receipt of the 2nd reminder, the club management reserves the right to exclude the child definitely and irrevocably from the playgroup.

6 Withdrawal
6.1. A planned withdrawal must be made in writing at least three months in advance, before the end of the semester or school year – i.e. by October 31st or April 30th.
6.2. If the deadline is not met, the student is considered registered for the coming semester and owes the course fee.
6.3. A change of playing groups within the club is possible after prior consultation with the supervisors.

7 Photo and video recordings
7.1. By agreeing to the present contract, the parents agree to release for use the child’s photographs and video recordings for the website of the Association for Languages and Culture “Merry-go-round” and for information and advertising materials directly related to the activities of the Association.
7.2. No personal data of children will be published on the website, especially no names, addresses, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses.
7.3 If the parents do not agree with a photo or video taken, they can inform the media representative and ask for the files to be deleted.

8 Various rules and processes
8.1. On the premises of the playgroup the children need slippers or socks with non-slip soles.
8.2. Caregivers should be informed in advance of planned absences from courses.
8.3. Each child brings a fruit for breaks. Crackers, cereals (cornflakes) and drinks are provided by the playgroup management.
8.4. In the play group the children’s birthdays are celebrated with games, songs and presents. If desired, the birthday child can bring cake, cookies or other treats. In this regard, a brief notification one week in advance is requested.
